Research, Curatorial Practice and Writing
Matthew Bladley
Luna Cam (Study) / 2008
Being inspired by science and science fiction, Matthew Bradley produced his works based on DIY approach. One of his typical works “Lunar-Came” juxtaposed two video images of the Moon, one is taken by NASA and the other is by self made telescope by the artist, in order to compare the plural aspects of two images, including enormous difference of production costs. Science now owns the big ideas about existence and the universe, but Bradley tries to take back the sublime from outcome-driven research labs of governments and corporations, and show that individuals can grasp it and feel it for themselves.
