With his over ten years of cave diving experience, Koyamada formulated a caving team, “Com-pass Caving Unit” In Kyoto, Japan in 2001, with a group of amateur cave divers in order to seek for potentials of caves not only from a science but also from a humanity background. As he points out, cave is one of few spaces to be reminded that a mechanical automatic measurement does not work, and totally rely on the one by human beings. In the venue of “Labour of Love, Revisited”, he presents works “Compass Caving Unit” explored and measured in Kuregahata Cave, located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
