“PLEASE STAY IN TOUCH“, 2010
Poster series, participatory processes, LED display
In what way do people develop an awareness of history and how do we react to questions as to whether, and to what extent, we can influence our politi- cal present and thus the course of history in the future? Tanja Nellemann Poulsen’s collages from newspaper articles and historical books stimulate a consideration of history and the role of the individual in it. With the series of posters she has made for The World in your Hand and for urban spaces of Dresden, passers-by are requested to send in their wishes and expectations about their future life in Dresden and the rest of the world by means of text messaging. For the duration of the exhibition, the individual messages will be fed into a communal text loop that can be seen on a LED display in the pedestrian area (Hauptstrasse) nearby Kunsthaus Dresden.
